Came home 3 weeks ago tomorrow. It's been tough, but i'm starting to come around. Went to a clinic appointment on Monday. Dr. Book says that things look great. Kidneys are almost back to normal. Liver numbers are within normal range. I saw Dr. Meyers as well and she thinks its time to do a skin-graph. We are supposed to meet with a plastic surgeon next Monday. I'm getting stronger everyday. And, my mental status is starting to get back to normal. Hopefully things will get back to normal soon.

It's My Birthday
Yesterday was my birthday and it was an ok day. I'm still not wanting to respond to anybody, but things are starting to look better. Mom and dad, Papa and Grandma Lora all helped to put together a successful birthday party for me. It seemed to lift my spirits to see all the friends, family, nurses and doctors come in to see me. That means alot. Dr. Meyers and Dr. Vanderworf came and had some cake after they finished another liver transplant. I guess that makes me important. The doctors are talking about trying to send me home on Tuesday after they take the dialysis catheter out on Monday. I am excited to go home.

Day 34 Post Liver Transplant
I Went to the floor today, But i'm still not very excited anyway. I still am acting a little depressed still, but the doctors think it might be because of some of the medications i am on that they are going to stop anyway. Cassie is coming home tomorrow from her vacation, I am excited to see her. I've been off dialysis for six days now and the doctors think that my kidneys are going to recover and I won't need it anymore. Hopefully i can go home soon.

Day 33 Post Liver Transplant
I got to go outside today. I seem to be a little depressed, but going outside seemed to lift my spirits a little. Doctors were going to send me to the floor today, but they didn't have enough room for me on the team. Hopefully I will be able to go tomorrow.

Day 29 Post Liver Transplant
Great Day! They decided to not do the dialysis tonight and see how my kidneys do. As far as tomorrow, we will see what happens, but things are going in the right direction. I got another central line out today. YAY! The only bad thing was that they put in a feeding tube in to give me more nutrition and to try to wake my intestines up. But, that is small compared to everything else.

Day 25 Post Liver Transplant
Having a hard day. I'm in a lot of pain so they started me back on a pain medicine drip. My pee slowed down because the prograf level(anti-regection drug) was high and it affects the kidneys. So, they are holding off on the prograf for right now. Other than that things are still heading in the right direction.

Day 18 Post Liver Transplant
Just hangin out. Still have the breathing tube and i'm not very happy about it. They want to keep me a little fluid possitive hoping it make my kidneys want to work, but it doesn't make my lungs very happy to be wet. Maybe in the next couple of days things will change. Still running a little fever, but nobody seems to be concerned at this point.

Day 15 Post Liver Transplant
Good news! Infection seems to be under control. Maybe won't have to go back to surgery for at least 2 or 3 weeks. Waiting for the swelling of the liver to go down so they can close my abdomen. Still a little aggitated today, would really like to pull all my tubes out and be done with it all, but i'm still hangin in there. The next thing we need to work on is trying to get my kidneys to start working again, they've been through alot. I'm still on the breathing tube from surgery last night, but since they waited so long to take me to surgery dialysis didn't get started till really late and now i am very fluid positive. So, until they can get some fluid off with the dialysis, I won't be able to breath on my own. Seem to be more comfortabe since they gave more pain medication through an i.v. drip.

So far i'm doing well weth my breathing, but it is hard to get through the therapy because my tummy hurts, but it's the price i have to pay for my recovery. My brother and sister came to visit and I was excited to see them. Papa and Grandma Lora came too and I was also excited to see them.
